MILANO: The Inside Story of Italian Fashion

The new film narrates the importance and relevance of the Italian Fashion Industry in the world over the past 50 years.

“MILANO: The Inside Story of Italian Fashion” is an international film strictly linked with the Italian heritage through the testimonies of the main renowned protagonists of its scenario, featuring Jacopo Venturini, CEO Maison Valentino, and the Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli.

MILANO provides a revealing look at Italian fashion in a major new documentary described by The New York Times as “Half nostalgia trip and half corrective to the narratives disseminated by docudramas like Ridley Scott’s “House of Gucci” and Ryan Murphy’s “Assassination of Gianni Versace.”

Frances McDormand offers eloquent insight into the mysteries of the Italian fashion capital, and speaks of her “performance art” project together with Valentino Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli.

Lauren Hutton talks about her experience in American Gigolo with Richard Gere, and we learn about the relationships between celebrities and designers. Sharon Stone provides a surprising performance as fashion critic, while the anecdotes and commentary from Helen Mirren and Samuel L. Jackson enrich the storytelling and provide revealing insights. Tom Ford emerges as one of the key narrative voices in the film, as does British fashion editor Suzy Menkes
